The Dedicated Doula Postpartum Services

Afterbirth Support for Birthing Parent

Compassionate, non-medical care focused on your recovery, well-being, and transition into parenthood.

  • Non-medical lactation support (positioning, latch basics, feeding rhythms) 
  • Non-medical Postpartum recovery support for both vaginal and cesarean births 
  • Gentle guidance on rest, healing, and body awareness 
  • Perinatal mental health awareness and informal screening, with referrals when needed 
  • Emotional support and space to process your postpartum experience

Support for Your Baby

Hands-on, nurturing care to support your baby’s needs while giving you space to rest and recover.

  • Assistance with feeding (breast/chest feeding or bottle feeding) 
  • Bottle preparation and feeding support (breastmilk and/or formula) 
  • Bottle and breast pump sterilization 
  • Diapering, soothing, and responsive care 
  • Holding and caring for baby so you can rest or take breaks 
  • Support during bath time and daily care routines

Infant Feeding & Care Guidance

Educational, non-decision-based support to help you feel confident in your parenting choices.

  • Lactation guidance (non-medical) 
  • Bottle feeding support (breastmilk and/or formula) 
  • Pacifier use education 
  • Burping guidance
  • Sleep education (including gentle guidance around sleep routines—not formal sleep training) 
  • Understanding your baby’s cues and rhythms
  • Have questions? I will answer, find the answer with evidence based research for you, or connect with the person who could best support

Newborn & Postpartum Education

Helping you make informed decisions with gentle, evidence-informed guidance.

  • Diapering and bathing 
  • Umbilical cord care 
  • Circumcision care 
  • Babywearing and carriers 
  • Belly binding (education and guidance)

Household Support

Light, practical support to help your home run smoothly during the postpartum period.

  • Light housekeeping (dishes, sweeping, tidying) 
  • Baby laundry 
  • Running small errands 
  • Preparing simple, nourishing meals with an anti-inflammatory focus

Familial Support: Siblings

  • Age-appropriate conversations to help older siblings prepare for baby's arrival 
  • Gentle guidance on what to expect before birth, during your birth, and after baby comes home  
  • Play/relationships/immersion based connection and reassurance during the postpartum transition 
  • One-on-one engagement with older children so parents can focus on recovery, feeding, or bonding with baby 
  • Conversely,  supporting with baby or household tasks so parents can bond with the entire family

Familial Support: Spouses/Partners

  • Education on practical ways to support the birthing parent and newborn 
  • Guidance in building confidence with diapering, soothing, feeding, swaddling, and newborn care 
  • A listening ear and space to process the emotional transition into parenthood 
  • Assistance creating sustainable routines that support the entire household 
  • Practical help that allows partners to be more present with both the birthing parent and their children 

Observation & Referrals

While I do not provide medical care, I am trained to recognize when additional support may be needed and will refer you to trusted medical professionals when appropriate.
